• Appraisal Institute (AI) Membership
The MAI professional membership designation is offered by the Appraisal Institute to individuals who have experience in the appraisal of commercial and industrial properties as well as residential and other types of real estate. An MAI member must fulfill stringent education requirements, obtain applicable work experience, and demonstrate skill in the intricacies of real estate valuation.
Recognized by the courts, government agencies, lenders, corporations, and other seeking quality appraisal services, MAI members are committed to practicing their profession according to a strict Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. To maintain their status, many MAI members also fulfill continuing education requirements.
• Counselors of Real Estate (CRE)
The Counselors of Real Estate is an organization of real estate professionals recognized by their colleagues, competitors, clients, and communities as having demonstrated exceptional knowledge, competence and ethics in their real estate practices.
A Counselor of Real Estate is a seasoned real estate practitioner who provides advisory services to clients. The Counselor brings to each assignment a broad range of experience in the real estate field combined with technical competency in more than one real estate specialty. Unlike management, appraisal or brokerage, counseling is not a discipline but a process. While objective in analysis, the Counselor directs his/her efforts toward the client's interests or development and execution of appropriate strategies. Those designated a "Counselor of Real Estate" (CRE) are recognized by their peers as having consistently demonstrated the highest levels of knowledge, experience, integrity and judgment in the practice of real estate.
• Real Estate Counseling Group of America (RECGA)
The Real Estate Counseling Group of America is a consortium of nationally and internationally
recognized experts addressing the emerging real estate decision issues of the Twenty-
